Parin was born in Turin in 1937, in the working-class neighborhood of Porta Palazzo, the son of a prostitute and a boxer. During his childhood, he underwent surgery for peritonitis at home, just before the house collapsed under the bombings.

At the age of 11, he witnessed, at his uncle's house, who made burglary tools for a living, the loot from a major heist at a pawnshop, divided among the various participants in the robbery. That day was a revelation for him, as he decided that this would be his future profession.

The book narrates the story of Parin, an important figure in Piedmontese organized crime between the 1970s and 1990s and real godfather to Michael Sorriso (rapper, author, and founder of the Italia90 brand) through a collection of 13 different poems written specifically for this occasion by Michael himself, that recount the story, life, and context in which Parin lived. Each of the 13 poems is accompanied by an illustration by Woc, visual artist and co-founder of the Italia90 brand.
